Châtellenie 2016, Haut-Médoc

£16.09

From gravel and clay soils with an ocean aspect which helps stabilise the temperature throughout the day. Spice and mocha on the nose with a supple palate full of dark berry fruit and a touch of intergrated oak, the finish is balanced by soft tannins.
Pairs perfectly with charcuterie and cheeses such as camembert.

Description

Planted on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux wine region, across both the the Saint Estèphe and Haut-Médoc appellations, these vineyards are cultivated with sustainability in mind.

The Haut-Médoc area, including Saint Estèphe, is located between the Gironde river and the Atlantic Ocean and benefits from a microclimate that protects it from harsh changes in temperature. This creates an exceptional terroir and conditions that are perfect for the vineyards’ main varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot).

These Bordeaux wines are caracterised by their power, structure and the richness of their tannins, giving them great aging potential.
