Description
Domaine Belle Mare covers 68 hectares of land, 63 of which are planted with vines alongside the banks of the largest and deepest seaside saltwater lake in the Languedoc region, called the Étang de Thau. The dry arid climate of the land is tempered by the cool salt air from the lake, making it perfect for bringing their grapes to maturity. As a result of the unique microclimate created between the land and the sea they are able to grow multiple types of red and white grapes, whilst maintaining the distinctive characteristics from each of these varieties. This enables them to create whites and rosés that are lively and flavourful, as well as elegant and powerful red wines.
They are mindful of the biodiversity and the ecosystem of the Étang de Thau and as such they combine sustainable agriculture and vineyard management maintaining a HVE (High Environmental Quality) Certification.
